Coaches Spotlight: Oliver Maclean

About Ollie!

PYC Youth Sailing welcomes Oliver(Ollie) Maclean to our coaching team for summer 2025! Ollie is from the UK and recently graduated from the University of Edinburgh with a degree in History. While in University, Ollie was the team racing captain/coach and then president of sailing. He has been sailing since he can remember, starting in optimists, moving into a range of double-handers, and more recently sailing Etchells in Cowes. At his home club, he coaches team racing and loves all things racing! This summer, Ollie is our 420 Development Coach and also has assisted our 420 Race Team. Additionally, he will, along with Tom Sitzmann, develop a team racing curriculum for PYC Youth Sailing! Ollie has enjoyed sharing his love for dinghy sailing with the next generation of 420 sailors!
