Coaches Spotlight: Olivia Atkins

About Olivia!

PYC Youth Sailing welcomes Olivia Atkins to our coaching team for summer 2025! Olivia is entering her Sophomore year at the University of Vermont, but grew up in the Greater Portland area. She was introduced to sailing at a young age, but it wasn’t until high school that she began competitively sailing 420s for the Southern Maine High School Sailing (SMHS) team. She rose to captain of SMHS her senior year, and since then, I have joined the sailing team at the University of Vermont. Olivia also races J boats and etchels in her free time. This summer, Oliva will be PJYC’s Pram Instructor. With her love for racing and her passion for sailing, she hopes to be able to grow the excitement of sailing for young sailors as they learn to develop all the skills needed to be confident on the water.
